According to reports from Statistics Canada, 51% of Canadians aged 25 to 64 with disabilities were unemployed in 2011. Only 21% of people without disabilities in the same age category were unemployed. For those with disabilities, 12% of those surveyed said they were refused a job in the previous 5 years because of their condition.
