Disability Employment Awareness Month (DEAM) is an annual awareness campaign that takes place each October. The purpose of DEAM is to promote employment inclusion for people with disabilities and celebrate the many and varied contributions of workers with disabilities.
Last year, the Government of Alberta issued a formal proclamation of October as Disability Employment Awareness Month. This year, EmployAbilities was excited to attend the kickoff event at Edmonton City Hall on October 1st! There were keynotes and guest speakers, success stories about inclusion in the workplace and exhibitor booths, like ours, showcasing resources and employment inclusion.
