Olivia struggles with anxiety and requires a job where she can create a routine. Olivia requires stability in her schedule and flexibility with her mobility. For example, she needs the ability to sit and stand when needed. Olivia first found a job as a full-time receptionist for a retail store, which ended up not being a good fit. Olivia had multiple panic attacks at the workplace and was diagnosed with a panic disorder. She was struggling with the full-time hours, the workplace being too far away from her home, and the ability to balance life and work. She was let go from her place of work but jumped right back in with her job searching.
A focus on employment retention
The EmployAbilities Employment Coach supported Olivia with mock interviews and editing her resume. Olivia connected with the Job Development team, which supported her in her job search by discussing potential employers and connecting her with job fairs. The employment coach also supported the client’s retention by connecting with Olivia every month for 6 months.
Setting boundaries and setting up for success!
She successfully got a part-time cashier/customer service position for Blush Lane Organic Market. Olivia successfully completed 180 days of employment and retention support. Olivia identified enjoying the work she does. She has also developed her work boundaries, as she is able to let the employer know when she does not want to pick up additional shifts.
