EmployAbilities Restart Your Career (RYC) Program is currently looking to fill a Case Manager/Facilitator position. This position is based out of the Edmonton office and will require the individual to work in person. We require an individual who is innovative, collaborative, compassionate, inclusive and committed to integrity to play a key role in the on-going success of EmployAbilities and our clients.

Reporting to the Program Supervisor, the Case Manager is responsible for intake and assessment duties, ongoing coordination, implementation and facilitation of curriculum, case management and monitoring of one group of participants within the RYC program, and is an integral part of the RYC team.

Intake & Assessment

  • Conduct individual assessment interviews to determine client selection for RYC program
  • Assist in the identification of individual’s employment barriers, employability and learning needs
  • Request additional mental health/medical/physical documentation from attending professionals to support individual’s participation in the program
  • Provide referrals/suggestions to alternative programs and services
  • Arrange for external assessments for special needs e.g. DRES, functional, psychological
  • Perform initial assessment of needs for assistive technology and disability related supports
  • Assist client in accessing necessary and appropriate interventions and social supports
  • Assist in the final selection of individuals for the current intake
  • Ensure accepted individuals application information is entered into the Foundational Learning (FL) Student Management System for funding approval

Case Management

  • Ensure that all attendance and progress policies are adhered to and recorded appropriately
  • Provide reminders to individuals regarding books fees and payments to Admin
  • Maintain client case management activities providing referrals and recommendations to external services as needed
  • Maintain client database (Apricot) and files ensuring individual, program and statistical information is up to date
  • Ensure that participants withdrawals are entered into the FL Student Management System immediately
  • Solicit and provide feedback regarding participants issues and concerns as needed and requested
  • Act as a resource in the resolution of issues, strategy development, etc. to assist participants in progressing forward in a timely manner
  • Promote use of career development and vocational rehabilitation theory and practice to assist participants with realistic employment goals

Facilitation and Training

  • Provide facilitation, instruction and training room management for the professional development component
  • Ensure completion of assignments and grading of such within the designated timelines
  • Follow up with participants on outstanding assignments
  • Ensure follow up and supports for participants requiring additional assistance
  • Coordinate the scheduling of external facilitators for program components
  • Assist in the coordination of program completion and graduation activities
  • Promote the ongoing development and enhancement of workshops and services to meet participant needs and changes in technology and/or the current Edmonton labour market

Employment Placement

  • Work with the job development team with all activities related to marketing of participants including work practicums, etc. to secure employment or further education opportunities, and 90 day follow up status

Community Liaison

  • Develop and maintain professional contact with other agencies and organizations relating to the provision of the program
  • Work cooperatively with Employment Development Supervisor to increase awareness among employers of the benefits of hiring individuals with disabilities
  • Represent the agency in a professional manner at all times

Administration

  • Ensure that all criteria and statistical documentation required by provincial government is adhered to
  • Implement all Alberta Skilled Trades & Professions, Foundational Learning and agency regulations, policies and procedures
  • Monitor program progress, assignments, transcripts and participant outcomes, identify and implement program changes as required
  • When requested, submit reports on activities to Program Supervisor

Other Duties

  • Perform other related duties as required
  • Attend agency staff and program meetings as required

Your Qualifications:

  • Degree/diploma in Adult Education, Human Resources, Health Services, Social Work or Business Administration and/or related field
  • Several years experience in the provision of employment related services
  • Previous experience in intake and assessment, case management, facilitation, and life skills coaching.
  • Previous experience working with persons with disabilities, barriers to employment or other at-risk populations
  • Willingness to travel within the City of Edmonton
  • Willingness to participate in professional development activities for both personal and agency benefits
  • Clear criminal record check.
