It’s estimated that 1 in 5 Canadians over the age of 15 have one or more disabilities that creates a barrier for them in their daily life. That’s about 6.2 million people!
That information comes from the results of the 2017 Canadian Survey on Disability. It also showed that people with disabilities typically had lower incomes compared to non-disabled people and that personal income was related to the severity of the disability.
