EmployAbilities has been connecting Ability to Opportunity since 1974. People with disabilities and barriers want to work, and we help them find and keep good jobs. But we can’t do it without you! That’s why we’re asking Albertans to donate $51 in celebration of our 51st anniversary, and help keep a good thing going.

Why donate

Simply put, donations change lives. People with disabilities and barriers statistically have a much harder time getting and finding a job, so the need is great. And it’s only growing. By connecting people to resources and jobs, we see miracles every day.  A job is more than just a paycheque – it gives someone pride, a sense of purpose, and real meaning in their lives.

Here’s a short list of some of the things your donation will go towards:

  • One-on-one resume assistance and job coaching provided by caring, compassionate Employment Coaches to Edmonton and area job-seekers
  • Northern Alberta programming designed to help residents of Alberta’s Lakeland region find and keep a job they love
  • Assistance to job seekers in Grande Prairie with employment-related support
  • Support for employers (and connections to motivated staff that are ready, willing, and able to work)
  • Programming to help young people with job training, certification, and and practicums, setting them up for success in the working world
  • Support for mid-career professionals, helping them get the skills they need to transition into a new career after a disability or illness
  • Resources for new Canadians to help them find work in a new country
  • Funding for initiatives that help celebrate inclusive employers

Will my donation be matched?

If we meet the requirements ($2,000 raised in 8 weeks from at least five different people) The Alberta government will match 50% of funds raised, up to $5,000 annually. So let’s get giving!
