Paul’s journey is a truly inspiring success story, demonstrating determination, resilience, and the power of tenacity. After suffering a stroke in 2016, Paul was left temporarily unable to work, a sudden change that posed significant challenges and hardships. Paul began his rehabilitation process with a high spirit and worked tirelessly towards rejoining the workforce.

Working with EmployAbilities

Paul’s situation has improved substantially since he came to EmployAbilities. EmployAbilities provided a range of support and interventions to Paul, including career planning, resume/cover letter assistance, labour market research, skill development training, interview skills training, and regular follow-ups. The collaborative efforts significantly aided him in achieving his goal of returning to work and maintaining his employment.

Securing Part-time Employment

He has not only overcome the physical and emotional challenges following his stroke but has also managed to secure employment, marking a significant improvement in his personal situation. A significant turning point came on November 9th, 2022, when he successfully secured a job at Walmart as a stocker. As of now, he continues to work part-time, happily supplementing his AISH income and exhibiting excellent commitment to his role. His 180-day follow-up further confirmed his successful adaptation and satisfaction with his current role.

Staying Positive!

On his journey to success, Paul stated:

“The support from EmployAbilities has been instrumental in my return to work. They have not only provided the practical assistance I needed but also the emotional support and encouragement that helped me remain optimistic and determined.”
