Jobs for Edmonton youth with disabilities.

Starting your first job can be stressful, especially if you are a youth and have barriers to employment.
It takes commitment, and it takes work, but you’re not alone! We help connect Edmonton youth with disabilities and barriers to jobs and opportunities. We can help you, too.

Winter Program (FULL)

Start Date: December 9th, 2024

Application Deadline: November 25, 2024

Spring Program

Start Date: March 24, 2025

Application Deadline: March 10, 2025

The Learn 2 Earn program offered at EmployAbilities will help you through your training to be employed.

Jobs Edmonton youth disabilities

If you are between the ages of 15 and 30 years old, live in Edmonton or the Edmonton area, and have barriers to employment, this program could be for you!

We assist youth with barriers to employment, including disabilities, medical and mental health conditions who are ready, willing and able to take the necessary steps to find and retain employment through training & certifications.

Ready, willing, and able to do whatever is necessary to find employment? We’d love to help you!

Please note – if you are on Assured Income for the Severely Handicapped (AISH) you are not eligible for this program. Also, a good understanding of English (speaking and written) is required. If you’re a recent immigrant with limited English speaking skills, please reach out to The Newcomer Centre.

Eligible Participants Will Receive:

Living Allowance

$15/hour x 6 hrs/day
for
10 weeks

Jobs Edmonton youth disabilities

Completion Bonus

$500 paid after completing 10 weeks
of training and 12 weeks of work experience

  • Team Building for Success

  • Warehouse Essentials

To be eligible for L2E, you must answer ‘yes’ the all of the following questions:

  • I am ready, willing, and able to work
  • I am 15-30 years old
  • I live in the Edmonton capital region
  • I am legally able to work in Canada
  • I have a disability and/or barrier
