“On this International Day, let us reaffirm our commitment to work together for a better world that is inclusive, equitable and sustainable for everyone, where the rights of people with disabilities are fully realized.” — António Guterres, UN Secretary-General

The United Nations recognizes International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD) each year on December 3. This day increases awareness of diverse abilities and promotes inclusion for Albertans with disabilities.

EmployAbilities hosted a special IDPD Brunch in Vegreville that was well attended. Thank you to everyone who came out to help raise awareness and celebration people with disabilities in our community.

In Edmonton, EmployAbilities staff attended a IDPD event at the Alberta Legislature, hosted by Honorable Robert E. Wanner, MLA speaker of the Legislative Assembly.

Tomorrow, we will be at a IDPD event at McArthur Place in Lac La Biche. If you live in the area, come to our luncheon to celebrate people with disabilities, the employers who give them opportunity & the many organizations in our County that support them. With their help and inspiration we are on the road to becoming a truly equal opportunity community.
