Our Edmonton staff have had a very busy week getting out and and about in the community!
On April 21st, EmployAbilities staff members participated in Connections 2015 an event held in partnership with Alberta Human Services and the Private Career Development Contractors Association of Alberta (PCDC). Over 40 service providers and 300 Alberta Human Services direct referral staff (AB Works, PDD & AISH) experienced an opportunity to connect with each other, share ideas, network & showcase our services.
On April 22nd EmployAbilities provided Resume Review & Photocopying services to job seekers and exhibitors at the Edmonton Journal Employment Supershow. EmployAbilities has been the exclusive provider for the past five years and receives approximately $20,000 inkind through Marketing & Promotion as well as booth space and other services from the Edmonton Journal. Sixteen staff members worked a variety of shifts and provided resume reviews to 218 individuals (an increase of 29%) and 573 photocopies (a decrease of 70%) during the 9 hour event!
Speaking of donations…EmployAbilities received a donation of 300 bus tickets through the Donate A Ride Program. These tickets are used to assist our clients in attending employment related events such as the Edmonton Journal Job Fair, as well as our workshops, and interviews with employers! We truly appreciate this donation for it’s direct effect on our clients
