FREE WEBINAR: Busting Myths About Disabilites in the Workplace

  • Alberta Human Services is offering a FREE webinar “Busting Myths About Disabilities in the Workplace” on December 17th from 2-3pm.  This is the second in a monthly series of free Training Webcasts for Employment of Persons with Disabilities, part of Alberta’s Employment First Strategy.

For too long, myths about employing people with disabilities may have contributed to their exclusion from workplaces. Employers may fear that people with disabilities have more workplace accidents, lack the skills to do the job, which may result in increased long term disability premiums and increased absenteeism. During this session, we will bust some of those myths.

ABOUT THE STRATEGY & THESE WEBCASTS

The Alberta Employment First Strategy will focus on ensuring that Albertans with disabilities have access to and are supported in meaningful job opportunities that contribute to a rich and fulfilling life. With these webcasts, we hope to provide a forum for open dialogue to discuss issues around employment for individuals with disabilities. These sessions are intended to spark the collective imagination of individuals, families, agencies, and employers, on how we can all work collaboratively to create inclusive workplaces and communities.

Please share this invitation with your colleagues, interested agencies, friends, family and employers.  All webcasts are free of charge and we encourage every Albertan interested to join in.
